For as long as man has been on the water, he has also been losing things of value under it. While some objects are small enough that they can simply be brought up by hand, many items lost are large and require special techniques and equipment to be recovered.

The PADI Search and Recovery specialty programme goes through the many different techniques that will enable you to effectively locate an object that has been lost underwater be it a ring or a sunken boat!! Once you have been able to locate the object, you will then have the opportunity to practice using a variety of equipment configurations to bring the item safely to the surface.

Now as a qualified Search and Recovery Diver you will be able to locate your missing treasures and help friends recover theirs as well. This is great fun!!

The course includes:

Procedures, techniques, problems, and hazards of search and recovery diving
Object location, various search patterns
Safety considerations for recovery of objects using various lifting devices

Course Details

Prerequisites:

PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent
15 Years of age or older
Up to date divers medical within the 12 months

Course duration:

Four open water dives
