Most people assume that the Advanced Open Water Course is for 'advanced' divers and that they need vast amounts of dive experience to take part. In essence this course is aimed at the not just the experienced diver but also at the new diver. This program gives students the chance to try new skills and learn new techniques all under the guidance of a qualified professional. For the diver who has been diving for a number of years this is a chance to brush up on skills, unlearn any bad habits that may have formed and learn new skills that they may not have.
You will be introduced to a range of different diving types under varying conditions. The dives will give you the ability to conduct dives such as Wreck, Deep, Night, Navigation and Buoyancy Control. By taking part in this course you will not only gain confidence in your diving ability but gain the freedom to take part in a wide variety of dives.
This course emphasises student involvement in all aspects of dive planning and gives them the ability to safely plan the dives independently once the course is finished.
The dives on this course also count towards the respective specialties and give you a taste of the various options that you have to continue your education. The PADI Advanced Open Water certification is also a prerequisite for various specialty courses.
